Looking for the perfect way to style your Autumn wedding? While the rustic wedding theme is great all year round, it looks particularly stunning come autumn, as the colours of the landscape begin to complement the rustic tones.

Style your rustic day

Think natural when it comes to your décor and opt for muted colours such as grass green and beiges, along with shades of brown. The key thing with the rustic look is to remember to keep things pretty but not too made-up.

Wooden trunk slices make a great addition to your table centrepieces and can be topped with small glass vases filled with wild flowers. Wood can also be used to make personalised signs, direction your wedding guests to your party, while adding a fun touch to your celebrations.

Animal designs – especially woodland animals, like deer – can also work well with this look and feature on your wedding tables and in your stationery designs.

Other lovely touches include hessian and lace table runners, hanging jam jars filled with flowers, and haybales scattered in and around your venue.

Serve a rustic feast

While anything goes when it comes to your wedding food, there are some options that fit best with the rustic theme. Consider laid-back food fare, such as a hog roast or woodfired pizzas. A traditional roast would also work well with the rustic theme and the autumnal season, featuring root vegetables such as sweet potatoes and honey-glazed carrots.

Look country chic

Looking the part is important with any wedding theme and right now there’s lots of chic rustic-style gowns available. Instead of choosing a satin or silk gown, opt for lace. Off the shoulder designs, slinky simple fits and even long sleeved dresses would work. Don’t forget your woodland-inspired flower crown too – the essential finishing touch for the rustic bride.

Grooms, on the other hand, should consider alternatives to the traditional suit. Tweed is a great option – and ideal for the cooler months. Braces, loafers and a quirky bow-tie complete the rustic look.

Opt for a vintage-inspired ride

Arriving at your venue – and leaving as man and wife – is a huge part of your big-day. Instead of opting for any old transport, choose something to complement your theme, with one of our rustic-vintage wedding cars.

The 1960s Van Dam Plas Princess Wedding Car is perfect for a rustic-inspired day. One of our most popular wedding vehicles, the chic, sleek ride can fit up to seven inside – allowing enough room for your bridal party too if you so wish.

Other options, which look great parked up at a rustic wedding barn, are our Beauford cars. Coming in blue and burgundy, they not only complement the popular rustic colour schemes, they also are great props for your wedding photos.
