If you’re planning on making a day or weekend of your trip to Salford Quays you certainly won’t be short of things to do.

The Imperial War Museum North and The Lowry and both worth a visit, even if it’s just to admire their surroundings and architecture.

Manchester United’s football stadium and the Lancashire County cricket ground at Old Trafford are also just a short walk away – great if you’ve got some keen sporting fans in your party.

For shopaholics there’s the Lowry Outlet Mall. Great for bargains and cheap eats – you’ll find a whole host of your high street favourites along with tasty chain eateries like Pizza Express.

There are also a number of more fancy restaurants across the Quays and within MediaCityUK, home to some of the best in media programmes.

The perfect night out

Wine

A great night out starts with delicious food along with a tipple or two – and there are some fantastic places to choose from at Salford Quays.

We recommend:

Lime. An independent restaurant and bar serving food freshly prepared on site and drinks from all around the world.

Damson. Perfect for parties looking for something swish and sophisticated. Damson is regarded as one of the best restaurants in the North West.

After dinner, it’s a good opportunity to experience one of Salford Quay’s top bars. Completely unique, due to their location and style, it certainly won’t be your average night out.

We recommend:

Dockyard. This rustic ale house has a chilled out vibe and a fabulous lawn for sitting in during the summer months. With views of the shipping canal and quirky deck chairs to sit in it’s the perfect spot for summer.

DockBar. Another independent bar, this time uniquely crafted with shipping containers. DockBar is effortlessly cool and has a huge drinks menu suited to every tastebud.
