Wedding transport: Top tips for brides

When it comes to planning wedding car hire there are often a lot of questions. Firstly you might wonder whether specialist wedding transport is really necessary; secondly you might question how many cars you realistically might need to hire. Then there’s that problem of finding a model that will fit in your wedding dress – are you best opting for limo hire or vintage car hire? With all these questions running through your mind it’s easy to get a little stressed when it comes to planning your wedding. However, it needn’t be that way. Follow our simple tips and you’ll be able to identify your dream wedding car in no time!

Tip #1 Think about your dress when booking your car

 

The last thing any bride wants is to choose the perfect wedding dress then not be able to fit into the car when it arrives. Some cars simply work better than others for more dramatic, princess style gowns.

• For a larger dress we’d recommend the 1960s Van Dam Plas Princess Wedding Car, the Baby Bentley, and the Rolls-Royce White Phantom.

• For a smaller dress we’d recommend the Regent Convertible Wedding Car, or any of the models mentioned above.

Tip #2 Decide who needs a ride and who will be riding with you

While it is traditional for the bride to travel with her father we are now seeing more and more brides challenge that tradition, wanting to travel with all of their bridal party, or perhaps their family. This is why limousines are becoming more and more sought after, offering more space for multiple members of the party to be part of the special journey.

Alternatively, you could opt for a traditional arrival and hire a complementary car for your bridal party. While not compulsory, as he will be travelling with you post ceremony, your groom may want to arrive at the ceremony in style too.

Tip #3 Book your car as early as you can in the planning process

Tip #4 Liaise with your wedding transport company ahead of the big-day

Like most events in life, proper planning makes things run a lot smoother and leaves you calm and relaxed before and on the big-day.

Before your wedding, make sure you speak to your driver to discuss timings and the route to the venue. Allow time for any changes to the plan or diversions due to traffic.
