We’re almost right in the midst of prom season right now – still time for one or two last-minute limo bookings! Even with the tight timeframe though, it’s still important to do your research into limo companies. Why not just go with the first one you find, you might ask. Well, it turns out there are plenty of good reasons why it’s best to shop around a little first.
One of the first things you’ll want to check before you get cracking on hiring a limo is the skills and outlook of the driver. After all, you’ll be entrusting your children to this person for a short duration of the night, so it makes sense to find out what about their general reputation first. NB: we’re not talking about relentlessly researching a single driver; more about the company’s reputation, and how little or much the drivers have to do with that public image.
It’s worth noting, too, that the law doesn’t require limo drivers to have a special licence of any kind in order to drive a limo, beyond the normal driver’s licence. That means that unless you do your research beforehand, it’s almost impossible to tell the seasoned drivers from the inexperienced ones – making it all the more important to look into the reputation of the company itself.
The limos themselves are another vital step in the research process. The main thing you’ll want to find out first is their reputation for safety. There’s nothing worse than the idea that your children might be travelling in a structurally unsound car, so it’s a good idea to quiz the company about their liability insurance, and whether their vehicles are covered under manufacturer’s warranties.
You’ll generally be able to pick up a pretty good sense of the company’s attitude to their cars during your conversations with them; a good, professional outfit (say, like us here at Limo-Scene) will be well-versed in the answers to your questions, and if there’s anything they don’t know, they should be able to find out the answer reasonably speedily – or at the very least, give you a good reason as to why they don’t have the information.
At Limo-Scene, we keep our cars to an unflinchingly rigorous standard both in terms of safety and appearance. We recognise that it’s not every day that prom night comes around for your teenager, and we’re fully committed to helping make certain that the experience is as memorable for them as possible. (Our Silver Hummerzine, for example, is often hailed as the ultimate hummer limo experience.)
This is the big one! Make sure that you have a properly good look around the limo hire company’s website before you commit any money to them – you should be absolutely convinced of their dedication to customer service. Overcharging and non-arrival of limos are two of the most common complaints when it comes to limo hire – and we’re happy to say that we rarely receive complaints here at Limo-Scene.
Have a look at their customer testimonials – they’ll often paint an excellent picture of what the company is best at, as well as highlighting any potential shortcomings they might have in a fair and honest way. We’ll hammer it home again; since this is your teenager’s big night, you won’t want to be taking any risks at all, and that’s why it’s always best to do your research before you hire a limo.
At Limo-Scene, we’re supremely confident in the quality of our drivers, our vehicles and our customer service. We’ve been in the business a while, and have had time to build up an excellent reputation for ourselves – you can check our customer testimonials as evidence of our unwavering commitment.
