Prom style ideas - Glitzy Ballroom

Before you know it, prom season will have arrived. So here on the LimoScene blog, we’re sharing our top prom themes and ideas – making sure your ready for the event well ahead of the big-day! It’s never too early to start planning!

Following up on our post last week about the Vintage Look, this week sees the turn of the glitzy ballroom look. It’s a classic look that will never go out of fashion and because of that, it’s super easy to create. So let’s get on with it then. Here’s your guide to looking glitzy and rather wonderful at prom!

Don’t forget to checkout our Pinterest board that we have started – send us your pics to add to it!

The car

A super stylish car is, without a doubt, a must for the glitzy ballroom look. Choosing the right vehicle can turn your look from wannabe to a real star. Luckily for all North West prom go-ers, we have a number of chic and beautiful cars, perfect for the beautiful ballroom look…

The white Chrysler, otherwise known as the baby Bentley is one of our favourite limos. It screams style and sophistication and of course, being a limo, it’s perfect for the glitzy superstar look. The Chrysler can hold up to eight, meaning you and all your friends can travel in style together. The car is also fitted with a stargazer, neon lights, CD music system and plush luxury seating.

Like the white Chrysler, the black Chrysler can seat up to eight – meaning it’s incredibly affordable if you’re splitting the bill. It shares all the same features as the white Chrysler but comes with sleek black paintwork. As with all our vehicles, you’ll enjoy a chauffeur driven ride to your venue, which alone will make you feel a million dollars!

The 1960s Van Dam Plas is utterly beautiful. It’s chic, stylish and reminiscent of balls from years gone. Unlike most of our vintage cars, this car is relatively spacious and can seat up to seven of you. So if you want to get the attention of all the other prom-goers, this is the car for you.

The attire

Go for floor length when it comes to your gown. Colour is great, as is a bit of sparkle. Make sure your dress is well tailored and nips in at the waist and gives you room to move you legs freely for when you hit the dance floor. Boys, on the other hand, look great in a sleek black suit. A skinny black tie or bow tie work, and for a look that’s extra glam, why not opt for a coloured silk bow tie?

Amazing accessories

A bracelet and earrings look great with the glitzy ballroom look, but be careful of too many accessories. If your dress has a lot of embellishments and glitz, it’s probably best to avoid the necklace!

Hot hair and make-up

A neat up do or perfect curls suit the ballroom look perfectly. You want to aim for something that’s clean, chic and not too fancy. Add a touch of glam to your face with silver or gold eyelids and a pink or red lip to suit your skin tone.
