Planning the staff Christmas party

Limoscene blog Planning the staff Christmas party

With the countdown to Christmas about to begin, it’s time to start having a think about the Christmas party. From venues to party numbers, menus to timings, and that all-important transport – there’s so much to think about, but we’re making it easy with our step-by-step guide. Over the coming weeks we’ll be offering plenty of advice for your Christmas party, but today it’s all about planning, planning, planning…

Top tips for getting organised

  1. Plan now

Even though planning a Christmas do can seem a little overwhelming, it becomes a lot more daunting the later you leave it. Instead of putting it off to next week, start planning now to secure the best dates and best venues in your area.

  1. Find a suitable date

Tradition seems to be that the Christmas party happens on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Of course, these dates get snapped up pretty quickly, so compile a list of suitable dates ASAP – if you haven’t already. The best way to do this is through an employee vote. Using Microsoft Outlook you can get your colleagues to vote for the dates that work best for them. You’re never going to satisfy everyone’s needs so just go with the majority.

  1. Confirm a budget

Before researching venues or committing to one, you want to make sure that it’s suited to all budgets. Pick something too pricey and many of your colleagues may have to turn the invitation down.

The list goes on….

  1. Find a venue

Once you’ve got a date, spend some time thinking about where the best place is to have your Christmas party. You’ll need to compile a list of around 10 venues as it’s likely some of them will already be secured for your preferred date. Other things to think about include cost, location and reputation. Remember, if you need shared transport our limos are ideal!

  1. Take the lead

Even though you’ll be relying on responses and interaction from your colleagues you’ll need to take the lead and make the final decision. Do get everyone’s input but don’t wait for every last person to reply if they’re dragging their feet. You’re never going to please everyone, and to secure a venue on a tight timescale you’ll need to be decisive.

If you’re super organised you may have a date confirmed already. If so, don’t forget your transport needs. At Limo-Scene and Wedding Cars we offer a wide range of cars and limos perfect for special occasions such as the Christmas party. You can view all our limo vehicles here.

Our vehicles do get booked up quickly though – so it’s worth reserving yours sooner, rather than later. Contact us free on 0800 389 5811 to find our more about our limos or to book yours ahead of the celebration!
