Planning the perfect 80’s night out

Posted on 26th Mar, 2015 by Jackie Jolliffe

23rd March

Who doesn’t love the 80s? Pop music classics, big hair, neon, a bit of sparkle … it’s not surprising one of the most popular choices for themed parties is an 80’s night out!

If you’re looking for a really fun way to celebrate a special occasion, or just liven up a weekend, why not get into the groove with our tips for a fabulously funky 80s themed night.

Go back to the 80’s

With its splash of silver glimmer, the 18-seater silver Hummerzine is the ultimate 80’s limo. This stylish model boasts extra headroom, luxury seating, disco lighting and laser lights – so you’ll be able to start the party before you even hit the town.

You’ll also be spoilt with features including outside neon and strobe lighting, multiple LCD screens and your favourite 80’s tunes bursting out of the sound system.

If it’s a girls night out – perhaps an 80s themed hen do or birthday celebration – our pink Hummerzine is a must. With space for 16, this fun limo is the perfect way to kickstart your night.

Again, you’ll find fab features including a massive CD/DVD system, lighting and luxury seating– just what pop princesses would expect!

Places to go

Manchester is the capital of fun, so you’ll have no problems finding the right places to celebrate the occasion.

Tiger Tiger has a disco floor that’s entirely dedicated to classic 80’s music, while The Birdcage, situated across the road, also plays plenty of 80’s tunes.

From Madonna, to Duran Duran and The Human League, you’ll be treated to lots of the classics to get your groove on to.

If you’re looking for a real 80s themed setting, why not try the FAB café in Chinatown. The 80s themed bar is packed with memorabilia from the era.

It’s a great place to sip on classic cocktails such as Fuzzy Navels, Sex on the Beach and of course those jelly shots!

The fashion

Make sure you get everyone to follow the best 80’s fashions. Bright neons, jelly shoes, shoulder pads, off the shoulder sweatshirts and legwarmers are a must. Slogan tees and parachute pants are also an excellent choice for the boys and guaranteed to get you noticed!

Of course, your look won’t be complete without big hair and some bold and bright make-up too. Opt for bright eyes and lips, dark liner and a touch of glitter.

For your hair a comb or brush is your best friend. Backcomb and use plenty of hairspray to create that iconic volume and don’t be afraid to add some curls or crimps.
